A federal judge overseeing Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal case ruled Wednesday that two members of Congress do not have the legal standing to intervene in the matter to force faster disclosure of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein, despite a new law requiring their release.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer said Reps. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, and Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican, could not seek a court-appointed monitor within Maxwell's case to oversee the Justice Department's compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
