MIAMI – Brightline announced it will begin operation of its 170-mile rail service to Orlando, which includes stops to Miami beginning Sept. 22. “Opening Orlando fulfills our ultimate business model,” Brightline President Patrick Goddard said in a statement. “We have seen incredible enthusiasm from the business and tourism industries eager to travel between Central and South Florida.” The high-speed train service is expected to connect area South Florida cities such as Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach to both locations.
