Allred Runs to the Middle Early in U.S. Senate Bid, Labels Cruz ‘Extreme’

Doing the media rounds, Congressman Colin Allred (D-TX-32) has repeated over and over one word he hopes to stick to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) above all else in the 2024 U.S. Senate race: “extreme.”

Appearing on Chuck Todd of Meet the Press’s podcast and Pod Save America, run by four former aides to President Barack Obama, Allred recited the term again and again.

“I come from a background that focuses on pragmatism — the best way you help folks is by actually being able to deliver on making their lives better and in Washington that often means it needs to be bipartisan,” Allred told Todd.
