Video footage of the moment a Walgreens security officer shot and killed an alleged shoplifter was made public by the San Francisco District Attorney on Monday.

Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony will not be charged in the shooting death of 24-year-old Banko Brown after District Attorney Brooke Jenkins determined Anthony had acted in self-defense, according to The Associated Press (AP). Jenkins’ decision coincided with the release of footage from the April 27 incident showing the moment Anthony shot Brown as he reportedly attempted to leave the store with stolen items.

In the released footage, Anthony can be seen confronting Brown, who was attempting to leave the store with a bag full of merchandise. After a small altercation, the interaction becomes more physical with Anthony repeatedly punching Brown, knocking the suspect to the floor. As the two continue to tussle, customers casually walk by until Anthony puts Brown into a headlock. Brown eventually breaks free and retrieves the bag of merchandise before turning to face Anthony once more. As he motions towards Anthony, the licensed guard with 12 years of service, pulls out his firearm and shoots Brown.
