The trial judge who presided over the case of Karmelo Anthony, the Texas teen convicted of murdering 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, was removed from the case as the defendant seeks a new trial to appeal his conviction.
Anthony, now 19, was sentenced to 35 years in prison in June after being convicted in the 2025 fatal stabbing of Metcalf at a track meet outside of Dallas.
