On a slower day for vice presidential speculation, former New York City mayor and onetime Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani weighed in on the VP debate.
Appearing on โCBS This Morning,ย Mr. Giuliani said he liked all of the potential nominees, and mentioned a few names including Rep. Paul Ryan (R., Wis.), but then said: โI kinda prefer Marco Rubio,ย citing the Florida senators appeal to Hispanic voters and young people.
He says the most important thing for Mitt Romney is to make sure that the vice presidential pick is qualified step up if something happens to the president, and doesnt create any questions about his or her readiness. โVice presidents dont win for the president, they lose for the president,ย Mr. Giuliani said. He said Mr. Rubio easily clears this bar.
