Trump ramps up fight with Harvard with threat to its accreditation, potentially jeopardizing its student aid

The Trump administration has ratcheted up its battle with Harvard University, with federal agencies telling the New England Commission of Higher Education that the Ivy League institution may no longer meet accreditation standards due to violations of federal antidiscrimination laws.

The Department of Education and Department of Health and Human Services penned a letter to NECHE Wednesday, saying it must work with the Ivy League to remedy violations or strip the 388-year-old school of its accreditation.
