A new outbreak of Ebola has been declared in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with 28 suspected cases and 16 deaths. The first case was spotted in late August, after a pregnant woman was admitted to hospital in Kasai province showing tell-tale signs of haemorrhagic fever. The woman in Bulape died five days later and nurses and lab technicians who had been caring for her then began to fall sick themselves.
