Gunman Kills 3 at Indiana Mall Before Being Shot Dead by Armed Bystander

Summary from the AllSides News Team

On Sunday evening, a gunman killed three people at the Greenwood Park Mall south of Indianapolis, Indiana before an armed witness shot and killed the assailant.

Police say the shooter had a rifle and several magazines of ammunition, and was stopped by an armed bystander who police called a "good Samaritan."  Several people were wounded, including one male and four females — one being a 12-year-old girl. The mall shooting is the latest mass shooting to occur in the U.S. over the last few months, including the Buffalo supermarket shooting and the massacre at the Uvalde, Texas elementary school, which spurred Congress to pass bipartisan gun safety legislation.

Reports from right-rated sources focused more on how police praised the armed bystander.  According to a New York Times (Lean Left bias) report, 22 of the 433 active shooter cases in the U.S. between 2000 and 2021 involved an armed bystander shooting the assailant.
