President Trump Shows Altered Map of Hurricane Dorian

Summary from the AllSides News Team

Updating reporters on Hurricane Dorian in the Oval Office Wednesday, President Donald Trump presented an altered map of the storm, which was apparently changed with a black marker to extend Dorian's path westward to Alabama. Most media outlets, regardless of political leaning, reported that the map appeared to be roughly one week old, as the storm had yet to reach the Bahamas. Many also acknowledged that Trump tweeted that the storm was threatening Alabama earlier in the week. The NOAA did not address the president's map.

That might have been intended to bolster Mr. Trump’s claim on Sunday when he tweeted that “in addition to Florida — South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”

Never mind that the Alabama office of the National...
