Midterms may be 'the economy, stupid' — but then why vote socialist?

Voters want candidates to start talking about economic issues, because those are the issues that matter most to voters, Pew Research Center found in a newly released survey. But if the economy is the top concern — if it is still, as former President Bill Clinton famously said, "It's the economy, stupid" — then the worst outcome of November's elections would be wins by socialists. Or democratic socialists. Or DSA-backed Democrats — whatever they're calling themselves then.
Fact is, socialists have a long and inglorious history of destroying entire nations' economies, devastating the means of production — including the human will to produce — and starving the populations to the point of mass death...
