Marty Makary resigns under pressure as head of the FDA

President Trump announced on Tuesday that Marty Makary has resigned as the embattled commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.

Kyle Diamantas, the FDA's deputy commissioner for food, will lead the agency in an acting capacity.

Mr. Trump posted a screenshot on Truth Social of a text message sent to him by Dr. Makary submitting his resignation after a tumultuous 14-months in the position.
