Violent attacks on Jewish Americans reached a record high in 2025, report finds
Violent attacks against Jewish Americans reached a 46-year high in 2025 — with New York accounting for almost half of all documented antisemitic assaults nationally, according to a disturbing new report.
The number of physical assaults targeting Jewish victims in the US jumped 4% last year, reaching the highest level since 1979, according to the Anti-Defamation League's annual audit of antisemitic incidents released Wednesday.
Assaults involving a deadly weapon shot up by a frightening 39% in 2025, the report shows. It was also the first time since 2022 that there were fatalities in the US that resulted from antisemitic violence.
