Tucked deep into the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee’s budget reconciliation bill, released June 11 and updated June 14, is one of the most sweeping land disposal schemes in modern U.S. history. The bill mandates the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land across 11 Western states, within just five years.
