In a political landscape filled with weak knees and mushy compromises, Geert Wilders just reminded the world what it means to actually stand for something. Back in 2023, Wilders’ Party for Freedom (PVV) won big—securing the most seats in the Dutch parliament. But even then, the establishment closed ranks, locking him out of a true leadership role. It was a slap in the face to Dutch voters, many of whom are desperate for a leader who will actually confront the very real challenges of immigration, integration, and national identity. Still, Wilders went along, forming a coalition that looked more like a political hostage situation than a partnership.
Now, he’s pulled the plug—and thank God for that.
