Only liberal America could be more upset over an encrypted messenger app slip-up than a shambolic exit from Afghanistan that got Americans killed. Democrats think they smell blood in the water, as the media-manufactured fallout from the leaked Signal chat story continues to make the Left all giddy over nothing.
National Security Adviser Michael Waltz set up a chat with top officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, about anti-Houthi operations and accidentally added notorious anti-Trump fake news writer Jeffrey Goldberg. The editor-in-chief of The Atlantic claimed top-secret war plans were revealed. Not true. CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who was also on the chain, denied this; Goldberg said he would not divulge the rest of the texts but did so anyway because his story was dying. Still, no war plans were discussed in the new texts.
The legacy press is dying and losing influence, but that doesn't mean they can't make a lot of noise. This story has caused many ruckuses over nothing, but you can ensure you break through the noise by joining Townhall VIP.
