Police on Monday were looking for a person they said abandoned a baby girl in front of a Bronx residence early on Sunday. Someone left the girl wrapped in blankets in a tote bag on Rev. James A. Polite Avenue near East 167th Street just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, according to the NYPD. Emergency medical service workers took the baby to Jacobi Hospital, where she remains in stable condition, police said. Authorities did not specify exactly how old the infant was.
