GOP Poised to Gain Seats, Electoral Muscle in Next Census

Democrats unnerved that president-elect Donald Trump made major inroads into the vote totals of rock-solid blue states could be even more unnerved in the years to come.

The current pace of massive migration out of traditionally blue strongholds California, New York and others will result not only in continued degradation in vote totals in favor of Republicans, but a reduction in the number of House seats they hold and a smaller share of the Electoral College.
