Bay Area real estate pros sentenced to prison in $55M mortgage fraud scheme

A former San Francisco real estate broker and two of his aides were sentenced to federal prison and ordered to pay more than $3 million Tuesday for fabricating documents that inflated homebuyers’ apparent incomes and helped them qualify for loans.
