SPRINGFIELD — A man shot to death on Saturday in the Liberty Heights neighborhood has been identified as a 19-year-old city resident.
Matthew Chaney was found dead at about 12:35 a.m., Saturday, on Nursery Street, according to Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s office.
Police responded to the area after being alerted by a ShotSpotter activation and located the victim who had died at the scene, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.
