Waterford Township motorcyclist dies after crash in Independence Township

The man, 42, was operating a 2002 Honda CBR900 motorcycle at about 11 p.m. southbound on Sashabaw Road near Fowler Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centerline and sideswiped a northbound 2018 Jeep Compass, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department in a news release. After striking the Compass, driven by a 27-year-old Waterford Township resident, the motorcyclist and motorcycle went to the ground and were struck by a 2022 Ford Bronco heading north.
