A Portland man on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in a St. John Street shooting that still has more questions than answers. Abdirahman Mahmoud, 36, is accused of killing 30-year-old Raoul Tshiyuka, whom police said they found shot early in the morning March 2. Mahmoud’s appearance at Cumberland County Superior Court was brief, just long enough for him to deny responsibility for “intentionally or knowingly” causing Tshiyuka’s death.
