Flash flood warning issued for Southwest Pa. early Wednesday morning

On Wednesday at 1:48 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning in effect until 4:45 a.m. for Allegheny, Beaver, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "At 1:48 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," says the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
