State Police Name Army Vet Robert Card as Person of Interest in Lewiston Terror Spree, Worst Mass Shooting in Maine History

Robert R. Card II, 40, of Bowdoin, is the primary person of interest in the largest mass shooting in Maine’s history, according to the Maine Information and Analysis Center, the intel unit of the Maine State Police.
Police began receiving calls about an active shooter incident in Lewiston at 6:56 pm Wednesday.
Media reports indicate there are 22 people dead and several dozen more injured, though police officials were reluctant Wednesday evening to confirm those numbers.
The shootings occurred first at Sparetime Recreation and minutes later at Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant.
At 2:52 am Thursday morning, the Maine State Police issued the following statement: “No updates to report at this time other than a news conference is scheduled for 10:30 am Thursday at Lewiston City Hall.”
