Former President Donald Trump said Monday evening that FBI agents were conducting a raid at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla.
“Nothing like this has ever happened to a president of the United States before,” he said in a statement. “After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”
Details of the operation were not immediately available.
Aides to Mr. Trump didn’t immediately respond to a request for more information.
The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Spokespeople for the FBI and Justice Department did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
