'A wonderful day': Ketanji Brown Jackson historic Supreme Court confirmation celebrated at White House

President Joe Biden marked the Senate's historic confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson in a ceremony at the White House Friday, giving the White House and Democratic allies an opportunity to celebrate the first Black woman headed to the Supreme Court.

Jackson, delivering an emotional speech, began her remarks by thanking God, the president and vice president, and members of the Senate for this moment.

“It is the greatest honor of my life to be here with you at this moment,” Jackson said.

Before she addressed the crowd, the president hailed the historic nature and value of her confirmation.
