President Donald Trump appealed to Black Americans to help re-elect him, telling them in a speech Friday that Democrats -- whom African Americans are poised to overwhelmingly support in November -- take their votes for granted.
βThey want to take the Black voter for granted and they have taken the Black voter for granted,β Trump said in a speech in Atlanta on Friday where he announced a plan to promote economic policies to benefit Black Americans.
βI did more for the Black community in 47 months than Joe Biden did in 47 years,β Trump said, promising to create 3 million jobs for Black people, open 500,000 Black-owned businesses and start a βnational clemency projectβ for people serving unduly long prison sentences.
