Donald Trump was only joking when he said he would debate Bernie Sanders, his campaign said on Thursday after a morning of media frenzy.

During an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday, Trump – who on Thursday crossed the delegate threshold necessary to become the Republican presidential nominee – said he would accept an invitation to debate Sanders if the proceeds went to charity.
