Mexico: Sean Penn interview helped nab 'El Chapo'

The hard work of Mexican law enforcement officials and the lure of Hollywood glitz fueled the triumphant end to a six-month manhunt for the notorious Mexican druglord dubbed "El Chapo," Mexican officials say.

Now the lawyers take over, kicking off the legally arduous effort of extraditing Joaquin Guzmán to the United States, where he faces trafficking charges dating as far back as 2009. Mexican officials had expressed little interest in extraditing Guzmán prior to his July prison escape, preferring that he serve his time in Mexico for crimes there. But on Saturday they said the extradition effort had begun.
