What a "Center" Rating Means
Sources with an AllSides Media Bias Rating of Center either do not show much predictable media bias, display a balance of articles with left and right biases, or equally balance left and right perspectives.
Center doesn't mean better! A Center media bias rating does not necessarily mean a source is totally unbiased, neutral, perfectly reasonable, or credible,just as Left and Right don't necessarily mean extreme, wrong, unreasonable, or not credible. In April 2026, an AllSides team member independently reviewed content from gCaptain and assigned an initial Media Bias Rating of Center.
The reviewer noted that articles were often straight news coverage that relied on complete direct quotes, and not loaded with excess amounts of context. At the time, the site also republished a significant amount of coverage from wire services like Bloomberg and Reuters.
The reviewer also reviewed the social media pages of founder and CEO John Konrad and noted he seemed to favor conservative narratives, though did not notice this personal bias in the site's content.
