Harry Reid doubles down on Romney taxes; Romney campaign responds
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has doubled (actually tripled) down on his claim that Mitt Romney did not pay taxes for 10 years.
Reid claims Romney hasnt paid taxes (again). (Kevin Lamarque - Reuters) In both a Senate floor speech and in conversation with Nevada reporters, Reid said he had it on good authority that the former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate had paid no taxes, a claim he attributed in a Huffington Post interview to a Bain investor.
โI am not basing this on some figment of my imagination,ย Reid told Nevada reporters Wednesday. โI have had a number of people tell me that.ย But he would not expand on his sources. โI dont think the burden should be on me,ย he said. โThe burden should be on him. Hes the one Ive alleged has not paid any taxes.ย
