For many, the word truth is a simple and non-controversial term that reflects ideas or concepts aligned with reality. For many others the word truth is a complex and contested term that is difficult to come to any final conclusion about.
For the latter, methods to ascertain truth are typically emphasized as human, probabilistic and fallible - with theories of knowledge generation (epistemology) likewise seen as profoundly complicated and without any clear resolution. For the former, these worries about nuance sometimes overlook a beautiful parsimony and clarity both in truth itself - and the various methods to ascertain it.
