Redacted White House Emails Shed New Light On Aid Pause To Ukraine

Newly released documents from the Department of Defense and the White House Office of Management and Budget shed further light on President Donald Trump's dealings with Ukraine, including that his administration's request to withhold aid to the country came less than two hours after his call with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The heavily redacted emails, obtained by the Center for Public Integrity via a Freedom of Information Act request, also show that Trump had inquired about U.S. military aid to Ukraine a full month before the phone call. Coverage of the emails -- which come just days after Trump became the third U.S. president in history to be impeached -- was mostly limited to left-leaning outlets at the time of this writing, with the exception of a few right-leaning publications.
