Summary from the AllSides News Team
On Wednesday, former President Trump and Vice President Harris engaged in separate TV interviews with Fox News (Right bias), drawing fact check coverage.
For Context: Harris appeared in an ostensibly pre-recorded 27-minute interview with host Bret Baier. Trump appeared in a 60-minute town hall with host Harris Faulkner, where he answered questions from an all-female audience.
From the Left: CNN Fact Check (Left bias) fact checked Trump’s town hall. It wrote, “He told a bunch of lies,” and presented 19 claims Trump made that it said were false. Key claims examined included statements Trump made about immigration, abortion, the economy, and foreign affairs.
From the Right: Washington Examiner (Lean Right bias) described Harris’ claim that “Trump was responsible for making taxpayer-funded sex change surgeries ‘available’ to federal inmates.” The Examiner noted a case where a transgender inmate sued the White House, receiving pushback from Trump, but eventually acquiescence from the Biden administration. The Washington Free Beacon (Right bias) also published an analysis in which it accused Harris of dodging live “fact checks and follow ups” from Baier during the interview.

Former President Donald Trump, who trails with women in recent national polls, participated in a Fox News town hall event on Tuesday in front of a female audience. Here is a...
...During her first Fox News interview as Democratic presidential nominee, Harris refused to take responsibility for the murders of Americans such as Jocelyn Nungaray at the hands of illegal immigrants who entered the country shortly after the vice president took office.
“I can’t imagine the pain that the families of those victims have experienced for a loss that should not have occurred, so that is true,” said Harris. “It is also true that if a border security bill had actually been passed nine months ago, it would be nine months...

Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign staff could not have expected her to perform well in an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News. Couldn't they? The candidate performed as many expected. It's no wonder her aides were so desperate to end it. Harris was repeatedly flustered while attempting to recite talking points as Baier interjected with fact checks and follow ups—standard fare for every Republican politician who appears on "mainstream" networks. She attacked Donald Trump for refusing to "take responsible [sic] for what happened in [his] administration" yet...
