US Has Most Confirmed Coronavirus Cases of any Country

The U.S. had at least 90,000 confirmed COVID-19 coronavirus cases as of Friday, the most of any country in the world. Vice President Mike Pence said at a Thursday press briefing that the U.S. has conducted over 552,000 tests. Left- and center-rated outlets focused particularly on dire conditions in New York and Louisiana, and on increasing demand for hospital beds and medical supplies. Right-rated media outlets are focusing coverage more on the low U.S. death rate compared to other highly-affected countries like China, Italy and Spain, as well as President Donald Trump's statement at the briefing that the high U.S. number speaks to a recent surge in coronavirus testing.
