The campaign quickly ignited a debate online around the controversial topic of eugenics, with critics arguing that the campaign promotes unrealistic beauty standards and idealized genetic traits.

For Context: Eugenics is the belief in improving the genetic quality of the human population through selective breeding. The term was coined in the late 19th century, and has been used to argue for a broad array of practices ranging from prenatal care for mothers deemed genetically desirable to the forced sterilization and murder of those deemed unfit.
