From the Center
Analysis

The midterm results. On Tuesday, Democrats flipped the House and Senate, winning majorities in both chambers by significant margins. As of 10:30 AM ET, Decision Desk HQ has called 54 Senate seats for Democrats to Republicans' 44, with Alaska and Mississippi still too close to call. In the House, Democrats will hold at least 241 seats to Republicans' 149, having flipped 32 seats so far. Of the seats that have been called, Democrats have won every Senate battleground race, in addition to some seats Republicans were favored to win. In South Carolina, Annie Andrews (D) defeated Sen. Darline Graham (R), and in Mississippi, Scott Colom (D) leads Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) by fewer than 50 votes with over 95% of the expected votes in.
