Russia's attempt to thaw business relations with the US began with talk of a professional hockey match between the two countries. What has emerged so far is a more modest business-linked event at a Moscow rink.
The first US-Russia ice hockey match since Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 brought Stanley Cup champions and Olympic gold medallists to the Russian capital this week. But Russia's 10-6 victory on Wednesday fell well short of the top-level spectacle Putin first floated to Donald Trump last year.
