Iran launched an unsuccessful attack on Diego Garcia, the joint US-UK military base in the Chagos Islands, the BBC understands.

Iran fired two ballistic missiles at the British Indian Ocean Territory, the Wall Street Journal and CNN reported overnight into Saturday, citing unnamed US officials, but neither reached their target.
