The Trump administration has agreed to pay nearly $5 million to the family of Ashli Babbitt to settle a lawsuit brought by her estate, two people familiar with the matter told The Washington Post. Babbitt, a Trump supporter and Air Force veteran, was fatally shot by a Capitol police officer as she attempted to climb through a barricaded doorway near the House Speaker's Lobby during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
According to The Post, the settlement does not include an admission of wrongdoing.
