American taxpayers would pay about $2,358 each to fund President Donald Trump's mass deportation effort, according to a new calculator released by the Economic Policy Institute.
The Trump administration rejects the claim, however, instead saying the real cost to taxpayers comes from illegal immigration.
The left-leaning EPI analysis, highlighted by Axios, estimated the federal government will spend roughly $268.9 billion on deportation efforts during Trump's second term through funding provided by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, appropriations, and other sources.
