Following a letter asking the Columbus NAACP chapter president to resign, a member of the local leadership team sent a response to the national organization's leadership supporting her. On Monday, the Dispatch obtained a new letter signed by Victor M. Davis, who wrote his title as first vice president, Columbus NAACP. The letter, dated Jan. 24, is addressed to Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, and voices support for Watson, who has led the Columbus branch for 10 years.
