Central Connecticut police are investigating a “possible explosive device” found and later detonated on a busy Meriden sidewalk Friday morning. Authorities warned locals to stay clear of the area around Hanover Street and Randolph Avenue around 9:30 a.m. “This is an ongoing investigation and the Connecticut Bomb Squad has been activated,” the Meriden Police Department posted on Facebook.
