Biden administration announces nearly $800 million in new Ukraine aid funding

The Biden administration has announced another round of military support for Ukraine as it fights off the Russian invasion.
The Pentagon has approved an additional $775 million in aid, which includes ammunition, surveillance drones, and anti-mine vehicles.
The news was leaked to the press late Thursday, with the additional funding authorized through the Presidential Drawdown Authority, which allows President Joe Biden to authorize the transfer of excess weapons. It was the 19th equipment drawdown for Ukraine since August 2021.
The United States and other Western countries have poured billions into supporting Ukraine since the war began in February, and the conflict has now since settled into a war of attrition, mostly in the southern and eastern regions of the country.
