The official White House line that Hunter Biden’s enrichment schemes have been completely separate from Joe Biden can no longer be sustained. Brooke Singman and Peter Hasson of Fox News report that email traffic shows that in 2017 Joe Biden wrote a college recommendation letter for the son of a Chinese executive. Jonathan Li, who did business with Hunter Biden.
“Fox News Digital obtained emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates,” Ms. Singman and Mr. Hasson add, noting that according to the emails Joe Biden FedExed the letter to Brown University President Christina Paxson.
And how did Ms. Paxson and her university respond? “It is unclear if Li’s son was admitted to Brown University, and if so, whether he attended,” Fox reports. Brown gave this column the same explanation it gave to Fox:
Because of privacy, we do not inquire of our Registrar’s office, Admissions office or any other office when we receive media requests such as these for information about applicants to Brown. Given both the requirements of federal law and Brown’s own commitment to the confidentiality of student records, we do not entertain these requests because we would not be at liberty in any circumstance to share information on any specific applicant to Brown or recommendation letters in support of any prospective student’s application.
