The White House announced Friday that President Biden will make his first foreign trip in June with stops in the UK and Belgium.
Biden has avoided travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, despite being vaccinated, but will make the trip to participate in annual G7 and NATO summits.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said, “This trip will highlight his commitment to restoring our alliances, revitalizing the trans-Atlantic relationship, and working in close cooperation with our allies and multilateral partners to address global challenges and better secure America’s interests.”
