Ilhan Omar ‘outraged the president would assassinate a foreign official’

A day after saying Congress must "step in and stop" President Trump after he instructed U.S. forces to kill top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al Muhandis, Rep. Ilhan Omar said she was "outraged the president would assassinate a foreign official."

Responding to a tweet from Sen. Ted Cruz that called Soleimani a "terrorist," Omar, 38, used the word "foreign official" to describe one of America's top adversaries.

"We are outraged the president would assassinate a foreign official, possibly setting off another war without Congressional authorization and has zero plan to deal with the consequences," the Minnesota Democrat wrote. "But of course you know that."

Cruz, 49, slammed former President Barack Obama's Iran policy, which he claimed included sending the Middle Eastern country "$1.7 billion in unmarked bills."
