Trump Says He Declassifed Russia, Clinton Email Probe Documents

Summary from the AllSides News Team

President Donald Trump said in a tweet Tuesday evening that he has declassified all documents relating to federal investigations into Russian election interference and Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server for government emails with “no redactions.” This comes after Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe declassified information reporting that former President Barack Obama had been briefed on Hillary Clinton's alleged involvement with attempts to tie Trump to the Russian intelligence scandal during the 2016 presidential election. The story was covered by outlets from all sides of the political spectrum. Coverage from left-rated outlets tended to frame Trump’s tweet, and other tweets by Trump Tuesday evening, as efforts to cast his political opponents in a bad light.
