Biden to Host Bipartisan Group of Lawmakers

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will meet with a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Monday to discuss their $2 trillion infrastructure package. The lawmakers chosen for this meeting have a history of sitting on committees that oversee investments that they themselves have said need to be made. The names include Democratic Senators Maria Cantwell of Washington and Alex Padilla of California; Republican Senators Deb Fischer of Nebraska and Roger Wicker of Mississippi; Democratic Representatives Donald M. Payne, Jr. of New Jersey and David Price of North Carolina; and Republican Representatives Garret Graves of Louisiana and Don Young of Alaska. Meanwhile, in the face of opposition, Democrats are keeping open the option of passing the bill via reconciliation and 51 votes.
