AOC's Chief of Staff and Top Spokesman Leave Her Office

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti and communications director Corbin Trent are both leaving her D.C. office. Chakrabarti is leaving to work with New Consensus on the Green New Deal. Trent is leaving to work on Ocasio-Cortez's 2020 reelection campaign as communications director. Media outlets on the right and in the center focused on Chakrabarti's involvement in controversies including his recent criticism of moderate Democrats. Media outlets on the left pointed out the exit had been planned since before AOC's feud with moderate Democrats earlier this month, which lead to Trump's controversial tweets about leftist House Democrats.
